Chiropractic care that actually tries to work out what's wrong first.
Hands-on care from Dr Jacinta Poulton — tailored to your condition, focused on the cause.
Care starts with a proper assessment
Before any treatment happens, Dr Poulton takes the time to understand what's actually going on. Every patient — whether presenting with acute pain or a long-standing problem — gets a thorough assessment: case history, posture, movement patterns, neurological function. The diagnosis comes first, then the treatment plan.
That plan usually draws on a combination of four things, applied based on what your assessment actually shows:
Spinal Adjustments
Precise, controlled manipulation of spinal and peripheral joints to restore normal movement, reduce pain and improve function.
Soft Tissue Therapy
Targeted massage, myofascial release and trigger point therapy to address the muscular and connective tissue side of what's going wrong.
Rehabilitation Exercises
Specifically prescribed exercises — including clinical Pilates where it's indicated — to restore strength, stability and the way you move.
Postural Assessment
Identifying and correcting postural contributors to pain — particularly important for patients whose work or lifestyle involves sustained positions.
How care typically unfolds
Most people come in acute — something's flared up and they need help now. We get you out of pain, then we work on fixing the underlying problem, then we work on keeping it that way. Most patients move through some combination of these three phases, though the path always depends on what your body needs.
Acute Care
Something's flared up — sudden back pain, wry neck, a strain from the weekend. Acute care is about getting you out of pain and back to functioning as quickly as possible, while making sure we're also understanding what caused it.

Once the pain has settled, the work of actually fixing the problem begins. Rehabilitative care rebuilds the strength, stability and movement quality that was compromised — so the same thing doesn't flare up again in three months.

Staying well long-term. Regular check-ins to maintain spinal health, catch small problems before they become big ones, and support an active lifestyle — especially useful for patients with recurring or degenerative conditions.

30+ years of chiropractic practice
Dr Jacinta Poulton graduated from RMIT University in 1989 and has been practising in the Manningham area for over three decades. She's seen and treated the full range of musculoskeletal presentations — from acute disc injuries in young athletes to degenerative cervical conditions in older patients.
Her approach has always been to look for the underlying cause rather than just manage symptoms — and to use the best available tools for the job. That's why Momentum combines chiropractic, laser therapy and clinical Pilates: because different problems respond to different things, and most problems involve more than one tissue type.
