Three treatments. One practitioner. One coordinated plan.

We offer three things that most chiropractic clinics don't: chiropractic care, laser therapy, and clinical Pilates — all under one roof, all run by the same practitioner who sees you from day one. That matters because your back doesn't exist in isolation.

01

Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic care at Momentum is grounded in over 30 years of clinical experience — and it goes well beyond what most people expect. Yes, spinal adjustments are central to what I do. But good chiropractic care means understanding what's causing the problem, not just treating the symptom in front of you.

Every patient gets a proper assessment before any treatment begins. From there I develop a care plan that addresses the specific mechanical, muscular and postural contributors to the problem — and that changes as you progress, because what you need in week one isn't always what you need in week six.

What chiropractic care at Momentum includes:

  • Spinal and peripheral joint adjustments
  • Soft tissue therapy — massage, myofascial release, trigger point work
  • Postural assessment and correction
  • Rehabilitation exercise prescription
  • Home exercise programming
  • Ergonomic advice and activity modification
  • Co-management with GPs and specialists when indicated

Laser Therapy

Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) — also called photobiomodulation — uses specific wavelengths of light to interact with cells in the underlying tissue, supporting the body's natural healing process, reducing inflammation and relieving pain. It sounds high-tech, but it's been in clinical use for decades and the evidence base is solid.

It's completely non-invasive and painless — most patients feel nothing at all, or a gentle warmth. Sessions take 10–15 minutes and can be incorporated into a broader treatment appointment. No recovery time, no discomfort, suitable for patients of all ages.

Where laser therapy can assist:

  • Tendinopathy — Achilles, rotator cuff, patellar, lateral epicondyle
  • Muscle strains and soft tissue injuries
  • Joint inflammation and arthritic conditions
  • Plantar fasciitis and heel pain
  • Cervical and lumbar spine pain with inflammatory component
  • Post-operative or post-injury tissue healing support
03

Clinical Pilates

Clinical Pilates is not a fitness class. I prescribe it the same way I'd prescribe any other treatment — based on what your body actually needs, not a generic programme. For patients recovering from back or neck injuries, managing chronic pain, or wanting to build long-term physical resilience, it fills a gap that hands-on treatment alone can't cover.

The focus is on developing deep core stability, restoring spinal control, and rebuilding the neuromuscular patterns that protect you from re-injury. Every exercise has a purpose. Progressions happen when your body is ready, not on a schedule.

What sets clinical Pilates apart:

  • Prescribed by a registered health professional
  • Based on individual assessment findings and diagnosis
  • Each exercise selected for a specific clinical purpose
  • Progressions guided by clinical response, not a generic schedule
  • Fully integrated with your chiropractic care plan
  • Suitable for patients with injuries, chronic pain and deconditioning

Why integrated care gets better results

Each treatment modality targets different aspects of musculoskeletal dysfunction. Together, they address the problem from multiple angles simultaneously — producing faster relief and more durable outcomes.

One Practitioner

All three modalities are prescribed and delivered by Dr Poulton — the same person who assessed you. There are no handoffs, no miscommunication between providers, no conflicting advice. The care plan is coherent from start to finish, because one clinician holds the full picture.

Treats the Whole Picture

Chiropractic adjustments address joint mechanics. Laser therapy works on tissue healing and inflammation. Clinical Pilates rebuilds the neuromuscular control and strength that protects the spine. Each targets a different layer — and together, they cover the full picture in a way that no single modality can.

More Durable Results

By addressing the biomechanical, inflammatory and functional dimensions of a problem at the same time, integrated care tends to produce faster improvement than single-modality treatment — and results that hold, because the underlying contributors have been properly addressed rather than just managed.

Unique in the Manningham area

The combination of chiropractic care, low-level laser therapy and clinical Pilates under one roof — all delivered by the same practitioner — is genuinely rare in the Manningham area. Most clinics offer one or two of these modalities, often with different practitioners delivering each one.

At Momentum, the integration is real. I assess you, prescribe your treatment, deliver your care and monitor your progress across all three modalities. That coherence makes a measurable difference to outcomes.

Serving Templestowe, Doncaster, Lower Templestowe, Doncaster East, Bulleen, Warrandyte, Eltham and the wider Manningham area since 2011.
